CopeCart alternative: when you want to stay your customers' contracting party

In its standard model, CopeCart is a reseller: CopeCart buys your product and resells it to your customer in its own name; with CopeCart Pro (a separate company in Ireland), you sell in your own name. ioumi is a contract and payment platform: you create the offer and contract, your customer signs via e-signature, and payment and invoicing run automatically in your name. Here you'll find an objective look at where the differences lie and what fits whom.

CopeCart and ioumi in three sentences

Contracting party & branding

In CopeCart's reseller model, CopeCart is the seller and contracting party, and the invoice comes from CopeCart; you only sell in your own name via CopeCart Pro (CopeCart Pro Ltd., Ireland). With ioumi, you are always the contracting party: offer, contract, invoice, payment and customer portal run under your name and in your branding.

Contract, not just checkout

Both can sell standard products through a checkout page: CopeCart as its core, ioumi via payment links. ioumi focuses on individual offers: a contract with your terms, eIDAS e-signature with audit trail, followed by automatic payment collection and invoicing.

Payment plans with triggers

Both offer one-time payment, installments or subscription as options in checkout. ioumi can also do a down payment plus balance, mixed forms and individual plans in the contract, due on signature, at contract start, on a set date or triggered manually.

Calculated with net amounts. In practice, the percentage fees are charged on the gross amount including VAT, so the payment volume is higher and the difference between the providers is correspondingly larger.

Below roughly €12,000 in monthly volume, CopeCart's reseller model without a base fee is cheaper on paper; above that, ioumi comes in lower with Growth, and from roughly €16,000 with Scale. CopeCart Pro at 3.9% + €1 stays below ioumi Scale up to roughly €28,000 in monthly volume, and ioumi is cheaper above that; the gap grows with volume. What really matters, though, is what you get for it: a contract, e-signature, invoices in your name and a customer relationship that stays with you.

An honest comparison: what fits where?

With CopeCart

  • In the reseller model, CopeCart is the seller and contracting party, and the invoice comes from CopeCart; selling in your own name only via CopeCart Pro (a separate company in Ireland, under Irish law)
  • Standard products via a checkout page, no individual offers with a contract
  • No e-signature with audit trail documented
  • The buyer chooses the payment plan in checkout: one-time, installments or subscription
  • Staggered payout: 80% after 14 days, 20% after another 40 days
  • Your customer pays CopeCart, and you receive a payout from CopeCart
  • 4.9% + €1 per payment (CopeCart Pro 3.9% + €1), plus payment method and risk surcharges

With ioumi

  • You are the seller and contracting party, and invoices are issued in your name
  • Individual offers with your own contract terms and T&Cs
  • eIDAS e-signature with audit trail, right in the offer flow
  • You set the payment plans: down payment, installments, subscription, mixed forms, due dates via trigger
  • Weekly payout after a 7-day security period
  • Your customer pays directly into your own wallet, with no platform account in between
  • Plans from €0 to €299 per month, with fees that drop as you move up

To be fair: CopeCart is a good fit if you sell standardized digital products, courses or tickets without a base fee, want to hand off VAT and complaints, or need an affiliate network with course hosting; CopeCart Pro is a good fit if a checkout in your own name is all you need. ioumi is built for offers that come out of a conversation: coaching, consulting engagements, agency projects and retainers, with a contract, signature and automatic payment in your name.

Frequently asked questions about switching from CopeCart

  • Is ioumi a reseller like CopeCart?

No. In the reseller model, CopeCart buys your product and resells it to your customer in its own name; CopeCart issues the invoice and is the contracting party. With CopeCart Pro (CopeCart Pro Ltd., Dublin, Irish law), CopeCart also offers a model in which you sell in your own name; individual offers, contracts and e-signatures aren't documented there either. With ioumi, you are always the seller and contracting party. ioumi is the platform behind it: contract, e-signature, payment collection, invoice and customer portal, all in your name.

  • Who takes care of VAT and complaints with ioumi?

You do, because you're the seller. That's the price of being the contracting party. ioumi creates invoices automatically with the correct tax details and provides an export for your accounting, but the tax responsibility stays with you. If you only sell standardized digital products to consumers worldwide and want to hand off tax handling, a reseller model like CopeCart's is made for that.

  • What happens to ongoing installment payments when I switch?

Ongoing CopeCart payments run out there, because CopeCart is the contracting party for those sales. You start new deals and payment links in ioumi. If needed, you can offer existing customers with open installments a new plan in ioumi, which the customer confirms once. We import customer and product data as far as it can be exported. We'll show you exactly how that works in the demo call.

  • Is ioumi more expensive than CopeCart?

It depends on the volume. CopeCart has no base fee and charges 4.9% + €1 per payment in the reseller model or 3.9% + €1 with CopeCart Pro, plus payment method surcharges and, in the reseller model, a risk-based surcharge. ioumi has a Free plan at 6.9% + €1.50 and plans with a base fee and decreasing fees down to 2.9% + €0.50. Below roughly €12,000 in monthly volume, CopeCart's reseller model is cheaper, and CopeCart Pro up to roughly €28,000; above that, ioumi with Growth or Scale comes in below CopeCart's fees. The sample calculations above show two typical months as of August 19, 2026.

  • Can I use CopeCart and ioumi in parallel?

Yes. The systems are independent. You can let existing products run out at CopeCart and handle new offers, contracts and payment links through ioumi.
