Digistore24 alternative: sell in your own name instead of through a reseller

Digistore24 sells your products in its own name and for its own account: Digistore24 is your buyers' contracting party, issues the invoice and pays the VAT. ioumi is a contract and payment platform: you create the offer and contract, your customer signs via e-signature, and payment and invoicing run automatically in your name. Here you'll find an objective look at where the differences lie and what fits whom.

Digistore24 and ioumi in three sentences

Contracting party & branding

Digistore24 is a reseller: Digistore24 is your buyers' contracting party, issues the invoice and takes care of VAT and complaints. With ioumi, you remain the contracting party: offer, contract, invoice, payment and customer portal run under your name and in your branding.

Contract, not just checkout

Digistore24 is an order form with an affiliate marketplace for digital products. ioumi can also sell standard products via a link, using payment links. The core of ioumi is the individual offer: a contract with your terms, eIDAS e-signature with audit trail, followed by automatic payment collection and invoicing.

Payment plans with triggers

With Digistore24, you create one or more payment plans per product (one-time payment, installments, subscription), and the buyer chooses in the order form. With ioumi, the plan is agreed per offer: down payment, installments, subscription, mixed forms, due on signature, at contract start, on a set date or triggered manually.

Calculated with net amounts and Digistore24's fee tiers for Europe (with prepayment, 2.9% instead of 4.9% applies to the portion above €400). In practice, the percentage fees are charged on the gross amount including VAT, so the payment volume is higher and the difference is correspondingly larger.

Because Digistore24 charges 7.9% + €1 on the first €400 of every payment, ioumi already comes in lower here with the Free plan (6.9% + €1.50) for payments of €50 or more; with Growth or Scale, the gap grows with volume. What really matters, though, is what you get for it: a contract, e-signature, invoices in your name and a customer relationship that stays with you.

Frequently asked questions about switching from Digistore24

  • Is ioumi a reseller like Digistore24?

No. Digistore24 sells your products in its own name and for its own account, is your buyers' contracting party and issues the invoice. With ioumi, you remain the seller and contracting party. ioumi is the platform behind it: contract, e-signature, payment collection, invoice and customer portal, all in your name.

  • Who pays the VAT and handles complaints with ioumi?

You do, because you're the seller. That's the price of being the contracting party. ioumi creates invoices automatically with the correct tax details and provides an export for your accounting, but the tax responsibility stays with you. If you sell to consumers worldwide and want to hand off tax handling completely, a reseller model like Digistore24's is made for that.

  • Can I keep selling through affiliates with ioumi?

ioumi doesn't have an affiliate marketplace. ioumi handles commission tracking for your own team (setters, closers, sales partners), and you can connect external partner programs via API and webhooks. If the Digistore24 marketplace is your most important sales channel, you can keep using it for standard products and handle individual offers through ioumi.

  • What happens to ongoing subscriptions and installment payments at Digistore24?

Ongoing Digistore24 payments run out there, because Digistore24 is the contracting party for those sales. You start new deals and payment links in ioumi. If needed, you can offer existing customers with open installments a new plan in ioumi, which the customer confirms once. We import customer and product data as far as it can be exported.

  • Is ioumi more expensive than Digistore24?

Usually not. In Europe, Digistore24 charges 7.9% + €1 on the first €400 of every payment and 4.9% above that, with no base fee. ioumi starts with the Free plan at 6.9% + €1.50 and, with a base fee, drops to 2.9% + €0.50 on the Scale plan. For payments of roughly €50 or more, even the Free plan is below the Digistore24 fee; the sample calculations above show two typical months as of August 19, 2026.

  • Can I use Digistore24 and ioumi in parallel?

Yes. The systems are independent. You can keep standard products running at Digistore24 and handle individual offers, contracts and payment links through ioumi.
